Twenty glass jars lie on their sides around a polished steel column, so you read the name on the cap before you pick a jar up. The set arrives filled, with herbs that run from basil, bay leaves and celery salt to rosemary, savory seasoning and sea salt. Under each black cap sits a sifter you can pull out when a measuring spoon needs to go in. At about 8.5 inches across and 13.5 inches tall, the tower takes the corner by the stove or a cabinet shelf. When a jar runs out, the rack qualifies for five years of free spice refills, and the packaging explains how to order them.
