About the Kamenstein Ceramic and Cork Two-Tier Produce Bowl
The bowl has two levels: a ceramic base for onions and garlic, and a rounded cork bowl that sits on top as its lid and holds fruit. Vents in the bottom of the base let air move under what is stored there. Cork absorbs excess moisture instead of holding it against the skins. Together the two pieces measure 11 inches across and 6 inches high, big enough to be the main fruit bowl on a counter. Lift the cork bowl off and each piece works alone: the base as a serving bowl, the cork for snacks or rolls. It comes in white, black, red and terra cotta.
On the same shelf of the Kamenstein kitchen line stands the Ceramic and Cork Salt Pig: ceramic salt pig with a pivoting cork lid, five colors.
Key features
- Two levels: Root vegetables in the base, fruit in the cork bowl on top.
- Vented base: Openings in the bottom let air move under onions and garlic.
- Cork bowl: The cork takes up excess moisture and holds fruit on display.
- Two pieces, two uses: Use them together, or apart for snacks or baked goods.
How to set it up
- 1
Put onions and garlic in the ceramic base, and keep potatoes somewhere dark of their own.
- 2
Set the cork bowl on top.
- 3
Fill the cork bowl with fruit.
- 4
Lift the cork bowl off to reach the vegetables.
Onions and garlic want dry air and their skins on, potatoes want the dark, and the two are better kept apart.
